While it was a sad occasion that brought me back to my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama a few weeks ago, it was a special experience for me nontheless. I said goodbye to one family member and met another for the first time. Welcome to the family, little Evelyn Grace! I will always remember the night I met you and your contribution to the dinner party that followed… I can’t wait until you are old enough to laugh at that story! But for your wonderful parents’ sake, I hope that time doesn’t come too quickly… for now we will all marvel at your sweetness, the adorable faces you make when enjoying your bottle, how alert and curious you seem about everything around you, and as your Mommy said, your “Buckner comedic timing”.
Chris took Sophia on a romantic sunset stroll down Passagrille Beach. Little did she know he was about to pop the question while we took photos “sniper-style” from atop The Hurricane restaurant nearby, where they had their first date. Sophia truly was surprised, both by the proposal and the photo ambush that was a part of it. I’m told this was the first time in their over 6 year relationship that Chris was able to pull one over on her. I love that! An amazing proposal story for an amazing couple. So great, in fact, that we couldn’t resist having a celebratory toast afterwards… Cheers to Chris & Sophia!
